Quarantine in Ukraine will be extended until May 11

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that at the government meeting on April 22. As a result, the decision was approved.
Shmyhal stressed that, according to the calculations of the Academy of Sciences, the peak of coronavirus incidence in Ukraine is expected in early May.
"According to the calculations of the Academy of Sciences, we expect a peak between May 3 and May 8," – the prime minister said.
At the same time, he said, the government has a clear plan to phase out the quarantine, which consists of five stages. The starting point of this plan is called "K Day". Shmyhal stressed that there are two prerequisites for its implementation.
First, if during 10 days the percentage of reported cases in the country does not change or fluctuates within 5%. Second, hospitals are filled with patients with COVID-19 at less than 50%",- he said.
Shmyhal added that, according to government estimates, K Day should come on May 12.
"If all goes well and the epidemic situation is favourable, then on May 11, we can talk about opening parks, non-food stores, some household service facilities. There may be other mitigation measures. But we can talk about them later," – Shmyhal said.
