The "waste" issue in Transcarpathia is very acute. There are no watse recycling plants, no place to store garbage. Therefore, the Transcarpathian region is simply buried in the trash. Waste is everywhere – lying on the roads, floating in rivers, even in the forests.
Ljasuk Dimitry films decided to check if everything here is really that bad.
“I spent a week in Transcarpathia, Ukraine to personally learn about the Tisa waste problem. I saw beautiful mountains, including the meandering Tisa, thousands of streams, dense pine forests and the huge Hoverla, the highest peak in Ukraine. I saw all the horrors, the huge amount of waste that covers the Tisa catchment area, tributaries, streams, the outskirts of the villages, the city limits.
I met many, many good people who dedicate their lives to cleaning Transcarpathia, who through their efforts and modest means try to save what still can be saved and to show others the way. The people I spoke to wanted changes.
I think I have managed to understand the cause of the problem and maybe the solution I would like to present.
I am making a short film about my travels and experiences. My goal is to shoot an objective and motivational film that I want to be a part of positive changes. I hope for success.”
