In the evening of February 26, there was a fire in the village of Yakivske in Svalyava district. A bathhouse on the grounds of a private mansion was burning. Friends of the owner were just having a rest in it when they saw that the ceiling of the building was burning. They notified the owner, and at 19:47 he called the rescue service.
Firefighters from the 9th State Fire and Rescue Unit of Svalyava and the local fire brigade of the village of Polyana were sent at the scene to eliminate the fire. In total, three pieces of equipment were employed.
Upon the arrival of the rescuers, the area of the fire was 35 sq.m. Also, the fire began to spread to a nearby residential house. However, the firefighters managed to stop the spread of the fire and at 20:46 contained it. Its complete elimination lasted until 21:22.
The fire destroyed the bathhouse and household items that were inside. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage are being determined by law enforcement agencies, the SES of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region reported.
