Uzhgorod citizens are urged to support an electronic petition for ramps and pedestrian crossings to improve the lives of low-mobility local residents.
The petition is on:
– the development and implementation of a program of ramp arrangement in Uzhgorod public institutions;
– the provision for low curbs on pedestrian crossings in the design and repair of public roads.
The text of the petition states that social standards must be of the European level.
“The development and implementation of the program is intended to enable low-mobility citizens to feel like normal members of the society. The problems associated with the presence of numerous barriers prevent people with disabilities from engaging in an active social life, – the petitioner Oleksandra Nesukh writes. – The program will create conditions for free access of low-mobility citizens to housing and public facilities, transport infrastructure, education, culture, health care facilities."
250 signatures are needed to support the petition, 105 have already been collected and it can be signed by March 14 on the site of the Unified Local Petition System – here.
