In Mukachevo, a police major was caught on bribe

Yesterday, February 9, police received from a deputy of the Mukachevo City Council a report that a police officer was extorting money from citizens.
According to the Communication department of the Transcarpathian regional police, the management of the Transcarpathian police immediately initiated a check during which the fact of the violation by the police officer was confirmed.
It was found out that the police major demanded money from people who did not have identification documents.
As a result of the inspection, a decision was made to fire the police officer. In addition, all materials will be forwarded to the State Bureau of Investigations to provide legal assesment for the policeman’s actions.
