A man, who tried to stab a policeman with a knife, was arrested in Transcarpathia

Investigators of the Beregovo Police Department have launched an investigation into an assault on a policeman. 
The brawler, who tried to inflict injuries to a policeman, was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Today, on January 30, at about 4:50 pm, the police received a report that in the village of Nyzhni Remety, an unknown citizen with knives in his hands was threatening police officers with physical violence.
An operative task force arrived at the scene, who found out that a 42-year-old local man had tried to stab policemen with a knife. Since the man would not react to warnings, the policeman had to make warning shots. There were no casualties due to the use of weapons.
The investigators opened criminal proceedings over the assault on patrol policemen under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Two knives were found at the scene, one of which looked like a bayonet knife and the other one looked like a hunting knife.
The 42-year-old resident of the village of Nyzhni Remety was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. The case is under investigation.
