The memorial sign was erected on the building of the school №12 that Vasyl graduated from.
Vasyl Varha from Uzhgorod was mobilized to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in June 2015, participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine as a soldier of the 53rd separate mechanized brigade of the Land Forces. He was killed during a mortar shelling by Russian troops in Donetsk region on June 17, 2016. He is survived by wife and two sons.
The 31-year-old fighter was buried on June 23, 2016 on the Glory Hill in Uzhgorod, the same year, by the decision of the Uzhgorod City Council session, Vasyl Varha was posthumously granted the title of "Honorary Citizen of Uzhgorod". He was awarded with the President of Ukraine Distinction for Participation in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (posthumously).
After the prayer service in the courtyard of the school, the plaque was consecrated and Vasyl Varha and all killed Ukrainian soldiers were honored with a minute of silence.
