Transcarpathians are already preparing for the Jordan – the consecration of water, which will take place on January 19. It is not yet known where the consecration will take place in Uzhgorod, but most likely it will be at the traditional spot on the Uzh near the Consulate General of Hungary.
On the streets of the city, near the pedestrian bridge, relevant goods are already on display in the stalls with tourist souvenirs: jars in beautiful wicker baskets decorated with various ribbons, flowers, fir tree branches, cones. Jars are with screw-on caps to keep the consecrated water inside.
Jars are not cheap: half a liter one costs 150 UAH or more, larger ones will cost 210 and even 300 UAH.
There is still a wide choice in the stalls, so if you plan to have water consecrated this year, hurry up!
