In Mukachevo, law enforcement officers seized opium from a local resident (PHOTOS)

Investigators opened criminal proceedings over the sale of a narcotic substance by a local resident. A syringe with a liquid suspected to be opium was seized. The investigation into the case is ongoing. 
On January 9, officers of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region, together with investigators of the Mukachevo Police Department, under the procedural control of the local prosecutor’s office, detained a local resident during the sale of drugs .
The 49-year-old man sold a 4 ml container with a liquid suspected to be concentrated opium for cash. The physical evidence was seized and sent for examination. It was found out that that was not the first time the man had sold drugs.
Criminal proceedings over the offense were opened under Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues).
The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. The choice of pre-trial restraint is being decided.
