An American almost died in the Carpathians. The SES of Ukraine reported that yesterday, December 24, around noon, a tourist from the United States had called the rescuers and said that in the morning he had set off to the Hoverla from the Zaroslyak sports center, but got lost.
It helped that he said he was climbing along a marked "green route" and also called for help in time – before dusk.
Six Vorokhta rescuers set off to help him.
Already at 15:15, the rescuers found the foreign tourist in a satisfactory condition and escorted him from the Mount Hoverla, – the SES reported.
Judging by the photo, the man was climbing without winter equipment.
