Recall that there are 15 territorial communities in Transcarpathian region, 9 of them are newly formed. It is in these communities where the first election of mayors of villages or towns, as well as elections of deputies to local councils will be held on Sunday, December 22. Those are six districts of Transcarpathia: Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Beregovo, Irshava, Velyky Berezny and Svalyava. In addition, in the Polyana community (Svalyava district), there will be the election of deputies, in connection with the accession of another settlement to the community.
On the election day, the police will be on high alert. Police crews will be on duty near the precincts to respond in a timely manner to reports of incidents and to prevent illegal activities.
The task of law enforcement remains the same – to ensure citizens’ safety and order during elections.
All reports of possible violations on election campaign and on the day of the election will be carefully considered to make appropriate legal decisions.
