Gambling business establishments were shut down in Transcarpathia (VIDEO)

The procedural prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region prosecutor’s office approved the indictment against three Transcarpathians, who set up a criminal organization for illegal gambling (part 1 of Article 255 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, part 4 of Article 28, part 1 of Article 203-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). According to the evidence gathered, a 47-year-old Uzhgorod resident established a criminal organization, where every member had clearly defined roles and responsibilities.
In the period from September 2018 to the present day, the suspect, together with other persons involved in the crime, set up underground gambling establishments in the territory of the city Uzhgorod, the city of Chop, Uzhgorod district, the city of Vynogradiv, Vynogradiv and Tyachiv districts. Law enforcement officers shut down 10 gambling rooms on April 14, 2019 after conducting a series of searches.
During the search, they seized 4 tables (roulette), 125 pieces of computer equipment, cash, Wi-Fi routers, modems, cash register, webcam, hard drives, flash media, safe, and other documentation. Mosty, gambling was done on computer simulators. All establishments were disguised as Internet clubs.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region, the examination confirmed that the seized equipment was used for operation of gambling establishments.
