Over the last 24 hours, three of the five recorded fires were caused by burning of dry grass in open areas
This was informed by the Office of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.
Despite numerous warnings, citizens continue to deliberately destroy nature by burning dead vegetation. Over the last 24 hours, three of the five recorded fires were caused by burning of dry grass in open areas. In addition, two cases of the forest floor burning were recorded in Volovets region.
Currently, 1,538 fires in ecosystems have been recorded in the region, including 52 in forest areas. In most cases, such fires are caused by careless handling of fire by the people.
The 101 Rescue Service once again urges citizens to strictly adhere to fire safety rules and not to provoke fires in natural ecosystems. First of all, you should not burn dry grass, shrubs and debris on backyards, make open fire near farm buildings, and throw cigarette butts and matches on dry grassy litter. And leaving a fire unattended can lead to a large-scale wildfire.
