The festive event was opened by the "Boyan" choir with the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine.
Representatives of state and municipal authorities, partner educational institutions of the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Canada were present at the festivities.
The deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Olga Travina and the deputy mayor of Uzhgorod Vasyl Homonay congratulated the staff.
During the ceremonial meeting, the Professor of Charles University (Czech Republic), Vladimir Matolin, was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of the Uzhgorod National University.
During the celebration, diplomas of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, the Transcarpathian Regional Council, the Uzhgorod City Council, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and distinctions of the Rector of UzhNU were presented to the employees of the university.
The Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir congratulated UzhNU with its concert program.
