Rescued brother from fire: heroic act of an 8-year-old girl

Eight-year-old Ivanka from Synevyr of Mizhhirya district rescued her four years younger brother from fire
According to the girl, around eight in the evening, while watching cartoons on TV with her brother, she smelled smoke which was quickly spreading throughout the house. When she saw the fire in the other room, she realized that their house was burning.   So she had to decide immediately on the ways to escape. At that moment, the fire had already blocked the escape route through the door. But the child was not taken aback, and decided to act swiftly: she opened the window, removed the mosquito net and got out with her brother in her arms.
A moment later, the villagers were already gathering around the children: they comforted them and called firefighters and relatives.
At the time of the fire, their mother and older brother were not at home.
Unfortunately, due to the delayed report, upon the arrival of the firefighters from neighboring Kolochava, the fire had already engulfed almost the entire roof of the three-room building. It took about two hours to completely eliminate the fire. Now the victims are temporarily living with their relatives, but they are sure that they will be able to return to their home soon, because the whole village community are helping to rebild their house…
