Photo exhibition “War for Peace” will open in the Museum of Local History on the occasion of the Day of the Defender of Ukraine

It features over 80 original exhibits and documentary photographs.

The photos were collected for more than a year through the hard and dangerous work of photographers, journalists and soldiers on the front line. It features pictures from the video library of the "Carpathian Sich" – photographers Myroslav Mysla (posthumously), Victoria Pryshutova, Alla Fedorchenko, Irina Tsvila. There is a Ukrainian flag with soldiers’ signatures, letters to students of Transcarpathia, etc.

The photographs show the process of formation and history of the "Carpathian Sich" Battalion. The Volunteer Battalion consists mostly of Transcarpathians. There are also soldiers from all over Ukraine and many countries in the world.

The photos show the battles and defense of Ukrainian land near Donetsk airport, the completely destroyed suburban village of Pisky, the destroyed towers of the airport, the ruins of a church, school, and residential buildings. In addition to the events on the front, the show everyday life of the fighters, birthdays, weddings, short minutes of leisure.
