The enterprise network was producing counterfeit products at industrial scale. The main sales channel was its own online shops and various online sales sites. The monthly income of one such enterprise amounted to half a million hryvnias. The offenders, under the guise of an official wholesaler of a well-known trademark, were distributing counterfeit products in Ukraine, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.
Employees of the Kyiv Cyber Police Department together with investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine, under the procedural control of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, found out that a large group of persons led by two organizers – residents of the city of Uzhgorod – were involved in this unlawful activity.

Counterfeit shops were situated at different locations in Transcarpathian region. The company produced 60 tonnes of counterfeit products monthly and marketed them under the guise of well-known trademarks. The criminals presented themselves as official wholesale representatives of a world-famous brand.
During the searches, law enforcement officers found a large amount of raw materials, finished goods and equipment (production lines) for the manufacture of counterfeit goods. In addition, computer equipment and accounting records were seized. In total, nearly 100 tonnes of counterfeit goods were seized.
Currently, all members of the crime group, including the organizers, have been identified. The pre-trial investigation into this matter is ongoing.
