Transcarpathian police have taken two children out of a troubled home

Svalyava policemen, together with the social service, have taken two young children out of a troubled home. From now on, they are being taken care of by doctors. An administrative case was opened against the boys’ mother.  
Police officers responsible for the work with minors constantly carry out preventive work with troubled families and families in difficult circumstances to timely identify facts of child neglect. 
Today, police officers of the Svalyava Police Department, in conjunction with child welfare officers, visited the family, in which a 29-year-old mother is raising two children, aged 2 and 9. The woman is not taking care of the children, does not work anywhere and abuses alcohol. The boys’ father works abroad.  The police have repeatedly warned the parents, but to no avail. 
The children were taken away and hospitalized at a local hospital. They are currently under the care of doctors. Then, the children will be taken to the children’s home in the village of Batyovo.  
The boys’ mother was penalized under Article 184 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, that is, parents’ or caretakers’ failure to fulfill their child-rearing responsibilities. The proceeding to deprive the mother of parental rights is to be initiated.
