For the fourth year in a row, the celebration of the Day of Uzhgorod traditionally begins with the mini-football tournament for the Mayor’s Cup. This year, teams of deputies of Uzhgorod city council and veterans (40+) of Uzhgorod, as well as deputies of Uzhgorod district and veterans (40+) of Uzhgorod district competed at the "Avtomobilist" stadium. The participants of the tournament were greeted by the chairman of the Transcarpathian Football Federation, the first deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Ivan Duran and the mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv.
A tough match ensued on the field, quite unexpectedly the team of the deputies of the City Council scored 3 goals in the first half. However, in the second half, the team of district deputies also scored 3 goals. The normal time ended with a score of 3:3.
In the penalty shootout, the city council deputies were luckier, the game ended with a score of 3:2.
After the match, the Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv presented the Cup to the winners and awarded the best players of the match.
