On the Kyiv-Chop highway in Mukachevo district, the driver of a Daewoo Lanos lost control and collided with the oncoming car. The perpetrator of the accident died from the injuries, another 6 people were injured, including a pregnant woman and a 3-year-old child. The police opened an investigation into the car accident.
Yesterday, on September 8, at about 09.50, the Mukachevo district police station received a report of a car accident with victims on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Chynadiyevo.
At the scene, the investigation established the preliminary circumstances of the car accident. As the policemen found out, a 40-year-old driver of a "Daewoo Lanos", a resident of the city of Svalyava, moving in the direction of Mukachevo, drove onto the oncoming lane, where he collided with a car "Skoda Octavia" driven a 27-year-old resident of Mukachevo.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the "Daewoo Lanos" died at the scene. His wife and 35-year-old passenger, a resident of the Lviv region, were hospitalized with serious injuries to the Mukachevo district hospital.
A pregnant 34-year-old woman and her 3-year-old son, who were passengers of the Skoda Octavia, were also taken to a medical facility for treatment. The 27-year-old driver and his 26-year-old wife are undergoing outpatient treatment.
A criminal proceeding over an accident with grave consequences was opened under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the rules of road safety which caused the death of the victim). The vehicles were taken to the impound of the police station. All the circumstances of the car accident will be established after forensic examinations.
