The food and culture festival of Hungarian traditions is being held for the third time in the regional center of Transcarpathia. A fairground was set up in front of the building of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod, where craftsmen present their products for sale. Winemakers are also taking place in the festival, you can taste a variety of Hungarian food and drinks. Also, vocal and dance performances continue on the stage, in particular, they started with the traditional Chardash.
At the official opening of the festival, guests were greeted by the Consul General of Hungary in Uzhgorod Jozsef Buhajla, the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Mykhailo Rivis, the Deputy Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Yaroslav Halas, the Mayor of Uzhgorod Bohdan Andriyiv, the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Hungarians Laszlo Zubanych.
“We have another opportunity to learn about the history, culture, traditions, food of neighboring Hungary. At the same time, the festival of Czech culture continues in Uzhgorod. This is an evidence of the multicultural nature of our region and friendly ties between peoples,” – Bohdan Andriyiv said.
The festival will continue tomorrow, September 8, admission is free.
