Fatal road accident in Uzhgorod district: prosecutor’s office approved the indictment against the driver of an "Audi A4"

It has been established that the suspect, while driving an "Audi A4", failed to choose a safe speed and crashed into a car "Renault" the driver of which had stopped at a pedestrian crossing to let two women cross the road.

As a result of the collision, the "Renault Kadjar" was thrusted onto a pedestrian crossing where a 75-year-old resident of the village of Nevytske, Uzhgorod district, was crossing the road. The woman died on the spot from the sustained injuries.

Both drivers were tested. According to the doctor, the driver of the "Audi A4" was intoxicated.

The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and remanded in custody pending the imposition of a pre-trial restraint by court.

The Uzhgorod local prosecutor’s office will request a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention.

A further pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Uzhgorod police department in Transcarpathian region.
