The Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of June 26, 2019 No. 616 changed the procedure for granting subsidies from the state budget for housing for persons without parental care. Some the main innovations are: subsidy is also granted to children deprived of parental care; children have the right to receive financial compensation for the purpose of purchasing an apartment.
Currently, there are 29 orphans, children deprived of parental care who need housing improvement in Uzhgorod. All of them were informed about the possibility of obtaining apartment by means of a subsidy or financial compensation. Those, who had already applied, were informed on their rights to receive housing or financial compensation, the procedure and conditions for obtaining such housing or financial compensation.
Thus, yesterday, at the Uzhgorod City Council, there was the meeting of the commission chaired by the Deputy Mayor Oleksandr Bilak that considered the need for allocation of funds for design, construction, renovation and purchase of buildings and premises for the development of foster care for orphans, children deprived of parental care, and identification of children who will receive apartments or cash compensation.
As of August 19, 2019, the Department of Labor and Social Welfare of the Uzhgorod City Council has received 13 applications from orphans for monetary compensation, but only eight came at the commission meeting. After hearing them, the members of the commission decided to form a list and include all present applicants in it for allocation of financial compensation for the purchase of housing of their choice at the expense of a subvention from the state budget to the local budgets for 2019.
The other five candidates for social housing or cash compensation will be able to attend the next commission meeting.
