Transcarpathian athletes won bronze medals at the European Handball Championship!

10 teams divided into two groups took part in the tournament.
The Ukrainian national team, along with Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and the Faroe Islands, were in the group A. To make it to the next round of the competition, our team needed to be in the top 2.
Ukraine finished second in Group A with 5 points (Serbian team finished first with 8 points) and made it to the 1/2 finals. In the semifinals, the blue and yellow team played with the winner of the Group B – the Swiss team. The match was exciting and tense until the end. Our handball players had a good chance of winning, but lacked skill. The game ended with a minimal victory for the opponents with the score 21:22. In the match for bronze medals Ukraine played with Lithuania. The game ended in a win for the blue and yellow team with the score 30:22. Thus, Ukraine won the bronze medals of the 2019 European Championship among Division II teams (U-17). And in the final match, the Swiss defeated Serbia and became the champions (35:27).
