On August 7, the head of the Regional State Administration Igor Bondarenko, the first deputy head of the Regional State Administration Ivan Duran and the Advisor to the Head of the Regional State Administration Serhiy Haidai met with entrepreneurs – members of the Association of Forestry Producers and Woodworkers of Ust-Chorna Cluster (Tyachiv district) and members of the ATO.
On behalf of the entrepreneurs, Vasyl Shymkiv, the Association President, said that the woodworking enterprises of the region work according to the law, buy wood at open auctions, create jobs, pay wages and taxes properly. At the same time, in recent times, some media outlets and social networks launched a campaign to discredit enterprises of the industry accusing them of pillaging the Carpathian forests. Law enforcement agencies conduct ungrounded inspections.
The Advisor to the Head of Regional State Administration S. Haidai noted that the President of Ukraine had set the task to fix the forest industry of Transcarpathia, to stop illegal felling of trees. By no means it implies stopping the work of woodworking enterprises. Therefore, those who work within the law have nothing to fear.
Activists – ATO veterans also made remarks at the meeting. They said that they respect the work of entrepreneurs, do not mean harm to the businesses that create jobs and pay taxes. The position of the veterans is everything must be fair and transparent.
In the near future, the head of the regional state administration plans to visit the districts of the region. He promised to visit Tyachiv district too to meet with people and see the problems of the region with his own eyes, the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration reported.
