“Preserving the traditions of the region”: a seminar will be held in Irshava district

On Thursday, July 25, the regional seminar on the intangible cultural heritage of Transcarpathia will begin in the assembly hall of Lysychovo village council. 
The opening will take place at 11 o’clock. 
The purpose of the seminar is to ensure the implementation of the Convention on the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the formation of a network of experts on the intangible cultural heritage, in accordance with the implementation of the grant project with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation "Online hub for the intangible cultural heritage of Transcarpathia". 
Visitors will have a chance to hear to a series of lectures on different topics. In particular, Vasyl Kotsan, candidate of historical sciences, will tell about traditional arts and crafts of Transcarpathia, Roman Pylyp, art historian, will tell about traditional costume and embroidery of Ukrainians in Transcarpathia. 
Ivan Khlanta, candidate of philological sciences, folklorist will tell about the main prose genres of Transcarpathian folklore. 
The lectures will also be delivered by Olesya Pavlyuk, the Head of the Department of International Relations in the Field of Cultural and Educational Activities and Folk Art of the COMMUNAL INSTITUTION REGIONAL ORGANIZATIONAL AND METHODICAL CENTER OF CULTURE, Vira Madyar-Novak, ethnomusicologist, Oleksandr Koval, teacher of UzhNU, Oksana Sidor, Leading Methodist of Irshava District House of Culture and Viktor Petrovtsi, the chairman of the Irshava district organization of the blacksmiths union, head of the museum-smithy "Hamora". 
The seminar will be opened by the director of the COMMUNAL INSTITUTION REGIONAL ORGANIZATIONAL AND METHODICAL CENTER OF CULTURE Anna Droghalchuk with the lecture "State policy for the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage".  
During the seminar, there will be master classes on traditional smithing and weaving, as well as the performance of the folk group of Lysychevo village house of culture (headed by Maria Koval).
