After closing of the polling stations in Transcarpathia, the police remain on high alert to protect public order and ensure the legality of the election process.
According to the Chief of the National Police Headquarters in Transcarpathian region Police Colonel Andriy Rubel, during the election day, on July 21, the police of Transcarpathian region received 66 reports about alleged violations of the electoral law, 16 of which were received after the voting process had finished. All of them were registered in the Journal of the Unified Registration of Claims and Reports.
4 criminal proceedings were initiated: over false report of bomb in the polling station in the village of Serednye in Uzhgorod district (Article 259 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), over misuse of election ballots (Article 158-1 of the CCU) – Rakhiv and Irshava, as well as under Article 345-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Threat or violence against a journalist) – in the city Mukachevo.
Also, two reports of administrative offenses under Art. 212-10 of the CAO (Violation of restrictions on election campaigning) were drawn up. The rest of the information is being checked.
In general, since the beginning of the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the police have received 269 claims and reports of possible violations of the electoral law. 9 criminal proceedings have been initiated, 36 reports of administrative offenses have been drawn up.
The police of the region will remain on high alert until July 28.
