The prosecutor of Transcarpathian region indicted a local lawyer of violation of the traffic rules, which caused the death of an 11-year-old girl in the village of Mala Dobron Uzhgorod district (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region.
It has been established that around 19.00, July 5, 2019, the driver of a Mitsubishi Outlander lost control and drove into the ditch, where he ran over an 11-year-old girl who was playing there. The child died on the spot from her injuries.
The suspect – a 35-year-old local attorney, in accordance with the examination report, at the time of the accident was in a state of alcohol and narcotic intoxication.
The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and taken into custody.
Uzhgorod local prosecutor’s office will request to impose on him a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention without the right to be released on bail.
A further pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Uzhgorod police department in Transcarpathian region.
Uzhgorod local prosecutor’s office is providing procedural control over the course of the investigation.
