Eight illegal migrants accompanied by two guides were detained by Transcarpathian border guards

Eight illegal migrants accompanied by two guides were detained today by border guards of the Mukachevo detachment.

A group of persons, including five under-age children, was noticed 300 meters from the border by the border guards of the department "Kosyno" around 4:00 in the morning. The lawful orders of the servicemen to stop were ignored, so the border guards made a warning shot, after which the offenders stopped. The detainees had no documents, eight of them said that they were Afghan citizens, and two said that they were citizens of Hungary.

During the interrogation, it was found out that the detained Hungarian citizens were involved in the organization of the illegal trip for the Afghans, including children aged 5 to 16 years.

Currently, the foreigners have been taken to the department of the Border Guard Service for drafting reports on administrative violations and conducting filtration measures. At present, measures are being taken to identify the persons involved in the organization of the trafficking.
