Uzhgorod rescuers received a modern fire truck at the expense of the European Union

The fleet of Uzhgorod fire brigade has received another modern light-duty fire truck with professional hydraulic equipment, which was purchased at the expense of the European Union. The project "Joint protection of people and environment through the establishment of the Ukrainian-Polish system of prevention of and response to disasters in the Carpathian Euroregion" is being implemented by the Association of Local Self-Governance "Carpathians – Ukraine Euroregion" with the financial support of the European Union within the framework of the Cross-Border Co-operation Program Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2014-2020.

The head of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region solemnly handed over the keys and a package of documents for this truck ATs-2-50 (Iveco Daily 70C15) to the rescuers of the 15th state fire and rescue unit of the city of Uzhgorod.

According to Roman Hudak, this modern special-purpose vehicle will enable rescuers to perform their tasks more efficiently, not only for firefighting in Uzhgorod, but also for various accident relief operations. The tank of this truck can carry 2 tons of water and 120 liters of foaming agent. In addition, it is equipped with state-of-the-art professional hydraulic equipment, which will also allow to efficiently help victims of road or other kind of accidents.
