Instead, the customs officers of the checkpoint "Luzhanka" confiscated from the woman a BMW "530D" – all because of 130 packs of cigarettes hidden in the fuel tank of the car, the SFS in Transcarpathian region informs.
Today, on June 14, 2019, at the customs post "Luzhanka", officers of the Transcarpathian Customs, together with border guards, prevented illegal transportation of tobacco products across the customs border of Ukraine. The cigarettes were carried by a Ukrainian in a car BMW.
The woman chose the "green corridor" for customs control, denying having any goods, including those to be declared, and also said that she was not moving any goods hidden from customs control.
Based on the results of the analysis and risk assessment, the vehicle was removed from the general queue for a full customs inspection.
Thus, in the in-depth inspection box, customs officers found 130 packs of tobacco products hidden in a vehicle, in particular, cigarettes PHILIP MORRIS with excise stamps of Ukraine in the amount of 100 packs, and cigarettes COMPLIMENT without excise stamps in the amount of 30 packs. The cigarettes were in the fuel tank of the car.
Thus, the Ukrainian committed actions to transport goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, using a specially made cache which is a violation of Art. 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The report on violation of customs rules was made, the vehicle and the cigarettes were seized until the court decision, their value is being estimated.
