This was said on the UA:ZAKARPATTYA TV channel by the director of the Transcarpathian Center for Local Self-Government Development Ivan Demyanchuk.
According to the project of the Ministry of Regional Development (http://uzhgorod.in/ua/novini/2019/iyun/minregion_repanekuvav_svij_proekt_perspektivnogo_planu_zakarpats_koyi_oblasti), 40 communities should be established in Transcarpathia.
"The proposed prospective plan needs to be adjusted. There are about 10 remarks, including: mountain region, transport and border systems, language and ethnic factors, national minority groups, prevalence of rural population (63%). I think that the Ministry of Regional Development did not take that into account in the proposed prospective plan. The probable number of communities in Transcarpathia is within 50-55, – Ivan Demyanchuk, the director of the Transcarpathian Center for Local Self-Government Development, said.
"In 2015, the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration was supposed to form a working group, which they did, and that group had to develop a project of a prospective plan and submit it to the Regional Council for consideration, and the Regional Council in turn was to approve it and send it to the Cabinet of Ministers where its final approval would be made," – Ivan Demyanchuk commented.
