Residents of Mukachevo and the district have cataract surgeries done for free

Since the beginning of this year, ophthalmologists of the Mukachevo Central Hospital have operated more than 60 patients.

The compensation for surgeries is provided at the expense of the city budget, the press service of the Mukachevo City Council informs.

Ultrasonic phacoemulsification with implantation of an artificial lens is an effective, reliable and painless method for getting rid of this disease. The patient starts seeing the next year after the surgery. Cataract, or cloudy lens is one of the most common diseases in ophthalmology. With age, almost every person has it. But cataracts are diagnosed in people of middle and young age increasingly often. The causes are heredity, injury, bad ecology and aggressive solar radiation. The risk group also includes smokers and overweight people.
