The captain of the ship, which crashed into a tour boat in Budapest, is a citizen of Ukraine

As we reported, an accident occurred in Budapest on the Danube River involving a tour boat with South Korean tourists.

Adrian Pal, the deputy commander of the Budapest police department said at the press conference that the accident had occurred at 21.05, the first emergency request came in ten minutes, the infostart.hu reported. The rescue operation began at 21.29.

Seven people were rescued immediately, they were delivered to 3 different hospitals. 7 bodies were found (they did not have life jackets), 2 of them were identified. The search for another 21 people continues.

Civilians are looking for survivors along the shores, the police ask the public to report if they see anything near the scene.

The search conditions are not very good, there are big waves on the Danube, it is constantly raining.

The shipwreck is being investigated by the disaster team who are assisted by experts from the Technical University.

Adrian Pal expressed his condolences to relatives of the victims on behalf of the authorities.

It was reported that the ship (Viking Sygin), which collided with the boat "Hableany" ("Mermaid") was under the Swiss flag, its captain was a citizen of Ukraine, both captains were experienced.
