The Transcarpathian, who almost killed his own brother because inheritance, will be imprisoned

Khust District Court took into account the evidence of the Khust Local Prosecutor’s Office and found a 63-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district guilty of inflicting to his brother severe bodily harm, life-threatening at the time of the attack, and threating to kill the victim’s wife. 

The clash between the brothers arose because of their deceased father’s house. 

Thus, being near their father’s house and discussing the distribution of the inheritance, the defendant struck his brother with a metal rod on his head. When he fell and lost consciousness, the attacker continued to beat him with this rod all over the body. As a result, the victim received a number of serious injuries. 

In addition, the defendant tried to hit the victim’s wife, who tried to protect her husband.

The defendant was found guilty of committing crimes provided for in Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional grave bodily harm, life-threatening at the time of infliction) and Part 1 of Article 129 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (threat of murder in the presence real grounds to fear such threat ) and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.

The verdict of the court has not yet come into force, as the term for appeal has not yet expired.
