Border guards found cigarettes in the fuel tank of a minibus

Last night, border guards of the Chop detachment caught a smuggler.

At two o’clock in the night, at the checkpoint "Tisa", during the inspection of a minibus Mercedes driven by a 37-year-old Ukrainian, border guards together with customs officers found in it a cache with tobacco products. Going to Europe, our compatriot tried to illegally transport a significant amount of cigarettes "Winston". 380 packs of cigarettes were packed in vacuum plastic bags and hidden in the fuel tank of his vehicle.

In accordance with the law, the "Mercedes Sprinter" made in 2003 and the found tobacco products were seized from the offender by the competent authorities. Thus, instead of the expected profit, our compatriot suffered losses totaling almost 200 thousand hryvnias.
