In Volovets district, a schoolboy fell into the river and was carried away by the current

Today, May 23, in Transcarpathia, an emergency happened in the town of Volovets – a local 5-grade student, during a break, went to see the river and fell into the water.

"The rapid carrent carried him away. Eyewitnesses called rescuers and tried to rescue the child themselves, but, unfortunately, to no avail", – the acting head of the Regional State Administration Yaroslav Halas said.

Now, they are looking for the boy downstream. We hope that the child will survive.

Recall that over the past two days, about 120 mm of precipitation (monthly rate) has fallen in Transcarpathia. As a result, 126 households were flooded in the region, including 45 residential buildings, as well as 818 hectares of agricultural land, 170 hectares of pastures.
