Together – to growth and success. That was the main advice for winemakers of Transcarpathia from the speakers of the international seminar.
The topic was "French experience in the field of winemaking: organization of the industry, introduction of the geographical denomination system, commercialization, requirements for the quality of wine". But the range of issues was wider. In fact, they talked about the strategy of the industry development for Transcarpathia and all of Ukraine.
The seminar was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ukraine and the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration. The event was also attended by representatives of diplomatic institutions, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and corporation "Ukrvinprom". The event was hosted by the Chateau Chizay wine company.
The event was moderated by the chairman of the Committee of the Agroindustrial Complex Entrepreneurs at the Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine Oleg Yukhnovsky. "Transcarpathia is the heart of Ukrainian wine making. And Chateau Chizay is the heart of Transcarpathian winemaking. I like the slogan of your region: "The land close to the sky". It is true," – Mr. Oleg said and expressed his hope that the seminar would stimulate the Transcarpathian and, in general, Ukrainian wine-growers to intensive growth.
"Buy Transcarpathian!" – Denys Man, the Director of the Department for Economic Development and Trade of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration presented this strategy for promotion of the regional products. In the presentation "Transcarpathian wine as a product and a tourist brand," he listed the steps to promote local products.
The leading speakers of the seminar – European experts – shared their professional experience and vision of the development of winemaking in Transcarpathia and Ukraine, and presented practical models for implementation by manufacturers.
The key expert of the EU project "Support for the Development of the System of Geographical Denominations in Ukraine" Darko Yakshich spoke about the technical aspects of the introduction of protected names. Why is it important? The geographical denomination of the product contributes to the increase of added value and hence the development of the territory where it originates from.
Granting of the geographical denomination to the Transcarpathian wine and the introduction of the brand "Transcarpathian wine" are among the goals of the leading wine company in the region. And, during the seminar, the Director of Chateau Chizay Anatoliy Poloskov announced the important news.
The Association of wine makers of Transcarpathia has been founded! This organization will be dealing with registration of geographical denominations for the Transcarpathian wine. Invitation to participate in a wide discussion were sent to the participants of the seminar and all wine makers of Transcarpathia.
