Procedural prosecutors of the Transcarpathian region prosecutor’s office, together with officers of the Economic Crime Department in Transcarpathian region, caught the head of one of the departments of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration receiving a $ 400 bribe.
The detainee demanded the money from a Transcarpathian for the assistance in re-registration of the ownership for a vehicle belonging to a disabled person.
The official was caught in his office immediately after receiving the bribe.
The official was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
The primary investigatory measures to document the illegal activity of the official of the regional administration are ongoing, following which the latter will be notified of being suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – extortion and receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official, the press service of the prosecutor’s office in Transcarpathian region informs.
