Local residents reported about a foreigner in the border area to the border guards.
Locals saw a middle-aged man with a backpack heading towards the border with Slovakia. The response team was immediately sent to the specified area, the press service of the Chop border guard detachment informed.
The foreigner was detained when he was already trying to overcome the fence.
He was a citizen of the Russian Federation, who had come to Ukraine legally. The man planned to get to Slovakia through the forest.
He was taken to the temporary detention center of the Chop border guard detachment. He will be brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 204-1 of the CAO "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine".
