Additional reserves have come to Transcarpathia to strengthen border security

The State Border Guard Service is taking active measures to ensure border security. In particular, mobile reserves are being formed to rapidly stabilize the situation on the border, and border guard units are provided with new equipment and technical means, the State Border Guard Service informs.

Recently, additional reserves of the State Border Guard Service came to Transcarpathia. Servicemen of the rapid response unit and cadets of the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, which will be based at the Mukachevo border detachment, will be used to strengthen the state border securiy. The main efforts of the reserves will be concentrated on the border with Romania and Hungary to combat cigarette smuggling to neighboring countries. 

It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, in the area of the department "Dilove" alone, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment have detained 17 people attempting to smuggle tobacco products, seized almost 57 thousand packs of cigarettes, 2 vehicles and 20 wetsuits.
