Transcarpathian customs officers confiscated cigarettes and a car from a Ukrainian who was going to Italy

Officers of Transcarpathian Customs prevented illegal export of tobacco products to the countries of the European Union at the customs post "Tisa". The Ukrainian was driving to Italy in a vehicle "MERCEDES-BENZ SPRINTER".

The citizen was undergoing the customs control in the "red corridor". During the oral questioning, the Ukrainian denied carrying any products in amounts that are subject to written declaration, customs payments and statutory prohibitions or restrictions on carrying across the customs border of Ukraine.

Based on signs of presence of specially manufactured caches in the vehicle, customs officers decided to conduct an in-depth customs inspection of the vehicle.

Thus, during the customs inspection, customs officers and border guards found in the vehicle 651 packs of cigarettes of different brands made in Ukraine. The tobacco products were hidden in a specially made cache under the rear seat of the car in the form of a double bottom.

Thus, the Ukrainian committed the acts aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control using specially manufactured caches.

These actions contain signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Currently. the report on violation of customs regulations has been drawn up. The vehicle worth almost UAH 227 thousand and the cigarettes worth almost UAH 25 thousand were seized until the court decision.
