Law enforcers have opened a criminal investigation into an accident that happened on the motorway Mukachevo-Rohatyn in Tyachiv district. A motorcycle driver was killed as a result of the accident. This was reported by the official website of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region.
In the morning of April 20, the police received a report of a traffic accident on the Mukachevo-Rohatyn motorway in Tyachiv district.
Investigators and patrol police inspectors of the Tyachiv department arrived at the scene of the accident. They preliminarily found out that a 28-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz, a resident of the village of Vonihovo, moving on a highway towards Tyachiv, on the 101st km of the road, failed to ensure traffic safety and collided with a motorcycle moving in the opposite direction.
The driver of the motorcycle, a resident of the village of Bedelevlya born in 1983, was taken to the district hospital. The young man died of his injuries.
The vehicles were taken to the impound lot of Tyachiv police station. The circumstances and causes of the fatal accident will be determined by the investigaton. A criminal proceeding was opened under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of the traffic rules). The investigation continues.
