According to the Hungarian information portal Szon.hu, in the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg region, one of the leading construction companies in Hungary won a 1.5 billion forints tender for preparation of the construction plan and construction of a section of the highway M3 (branch M49) to the Hungarian-Romanian border.
The highway M3 is divided into three branches: the first one will run to the Ukrainian border in Beregdaróc and will be built north of Zahony (branch M34), the second will pass to the south – near Mátészalká, and the above-mentioned M49 will be laid to the Hungarian-Romanian border.
The Uvaterv Zrt and Unitef 83 Zrt consortium is preparing plans for a 25-kilometer-long highway with the maximum driving speed of 110 kilometers per hour. The total cost of the updated highway will be 1,496 billion forints.
At the end of last year, the Hungarian government announced the development of highways a big transport investment of the national economy.
