Roma and patients of a psychiatric hospital are voting at the election in Transcarpathia (PHOTOS)

In Beregovo (TEC 73), all 14 polling stations were opened on time, including a special one located in the regional psychiatric hospital. This was reported by the Mukachevo.net.

The latter one is the smallest in the city – only 33 people are registered there, and they all voted by noon.

Also, the members of the DEC came to the village of Chikosh, where the hospital’s branch is located. The head physician of the hospital, Tetyana Almashii, warned observers and journalists that it is prohibited to film the patients in the hospital.

Residents of the local Roma camp have also been quite actively voting at the polling station, which is located in the secondary school No. 7. The only problem that occurs there is that it is difficult to find a voter in the list, since many Roma have the same first and last names, and the exact address of the residence is often absent. Therefore, DEC members identify voters by birth date.

A total of 18,956 voters have the right to vote in Beregovo. However, the turnout is very low – at the largest polling station located at the House of Culture as of 11.00, only 165 out of 2,208 voters have voted. This was reported by Vyacheslav Shalyhin, the chairman of the DEC.

The center of the territorial election district 73 which includes Beregovo and Vynogradiv districts is in the city of Vynogradiv. The approximate number of voters in the district is 146,339 people.
