Without illumination of entrances, adjoining areas and with dead elevators – one third of Uzhgorod residents may end up in this unpleasant situation because of the reluctance of housing and utilities organizations to pay for electricity used to illuminate entrances, adjoining areas, elevators, etc. This is stated in the information posted on the page of the Zakarpattyaenergozbut on Facebook.
Despite the fact that those companies invoice tenants for electricity, they won’t transfer the money to the energy supplier.
For a long time, Uzhgorod housing and utilities companies have not been complying with the terms of the contract and have not been paying for the electricity used to illuminate the adjacent areas, entrances, operation of elevators. The management of the "Zakarpattyaenergozbut" LLC has already warned Uzhgorod residents that they will be forced to stop supplying electricity for the needs of all buildings served by five Uzhgorod housing enterprises. In total, those are almost 9 thousand customers or about 30 thousand residents of Uzhgorod (almost one third of the total population of the city!).
