The International Women’s Day action "First Wreath" with the participation of Amnesty International took place in Uzhgorod.
Even before the arrival of the participants, Poshtova Square, which was announced as the venue of the rally, was surrounded by policemen and national guards – allegedly, due to bomb threat.
They did not find explosives, but the cordon stayed there, they even formed three rings – the protesters arrived. The action began: traditional speeches about women’s rights, complaints of harassment by far-right organizations and appeals to fight for more opportunities for women. Everything went peacefully, and after the rally activists boarded buses and left the square escorted by police cars.
