The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) has decided to withdraw from circulation old 10,000 forint banknotes issued before 2014, the MyHungary.Net reported.
This was stated in the official newspaper Magyar Közlöny. MNB launched the program for replacement of Hungarian banknotes in 2014. The 10,000 forint banknote will be the last to be replaced. After the old banknotes are withdrawn from circulation on December 31, 2019, they can still be exchanged for free in banks and post offices for three years, as well as for 20 years at the central bank.
