In Transcarpathia, today, about three o’clock, near the village of Dilove in Rakhiv district, border guards prevented an attempt of tobacco smuggling.

"During the patrolling of the mountainous area, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment noticed a group of unknown persons with packages. The border guards immediately tried to detain the offenders and made several warning shots," – the State Border Guard Service reported.

Despite the legal demands of border guards to stop, the smugglers fled. During the inspection of the area, the border guards found 10 packages, which contained almost 5 thousand packs of cigarettes.

The cigarettes were taken to the border guard unit. Measures to identify the persons involved in the unlawful activities are being taken.
