At night, border guards of the Chop detachment found a vehicle that was on international wanted list.
A man tried to import a minibus "Mercedes Viano" without registration number into the territory of Ukraine on a carriage for further clearance. The border guards checked the vehicle’s VIN code. During this check, they found out that the vehicle was in the Interpol database. The border guards informed officers of the Interpol and the National Police about this. At the request of the border guards, the Ukrainian Interpol Bureau informed that the Mercedes Viano made in 2011 had been stolen in Italy two years ago.
The found minibus and the documents were handed over to the National Police officers. The man, who was transporting the stolen vehicle, is suspected of a criminal offense stipulated in Article 289 of the CCU "Illegal possession of a vehicle".
